There are many factors
that come immigrates and refuges coming to the United States. Accepting of
refuges has been a hot topic in this year’s upcoming presidential elections. Many
Americans are scared that if we accept refuges, that there will been an
increase on attacks on American soil. With the recent attacks on other “western”
countries and our own country from immigrates and refugees, there is a reason
why this is a huge topic of debate.
In Mankato, Minnesota (a city I lived near for
a number of years) they have been accepting refuges from Somalia since the 1990’s.
Many of the local communities in Mankato are extremely open and welcoming to
the large influx of refugees that have been settling in that area. The number of refuges that have been pushed to
flee their country has been growing in recent years. A huge factor in these Somali refugees to be pushed
from their native land was by political and military instability. In the end
Minnesota is a great example of how to treat refugees and many of the refugees
are grateful to be living a country so accepting of them.

This is very interesting. I was unaware of the phenomenon of secondary refugee migration.
